Jumpers / Patchcords
Jumpers and Patchcords are the CAT5, CAT6, CAT7 cables that are pre terminated for making interconnections between network devices and either patch panels or routers / switches.
Patchcords use braided wire for flexibility and have RJ-45 connectors on each end. Many have boots on the connectors to protect the release tab from breaking. Some patch cords are also shielded which prevents interference and cross talk which is important when video in on the network
